Founded in 2015 by Ricardo Mirat in Madrid, Mirat showcases modern, postwar and contemporary artists.

Occupying the space of a former cow barn in the Almagro neighbourhood in Madrid, the gallery is focused on the reflection on contemporary aesthetic in dialogue with its historical roots. The gallery program stands out for historical surveys connecting subjects, techniques and artists across time, and spotlight exhibitions on contemporary artists from all over the world, with a special interest in the deviations from the current canon.

By proposing unexpected connections between artists across time the gallery aims to contribute to the global conversation on the nature of art, its past challenges and current questions.
